Augustine ParkerEvercreech, Somerset, Jan 29, 2006 Augustine Thomas Parker who was Thomas's eldest son married Elizabeth Eyers in June 1873 in Frome. (See History Notes) Elizabeth may have been the daughter (one of ten children) of Thomas Eyres Agricultural Labourer and Mary Eyres, of 24 Corston Road, Corston a hamlet south of Malmesbury in Wiltshire. By 1881 Augustine and Elizabeth were living at 8 Chandos Road Westbury on Trim Gloucestershire, (now a suburb of Bristol) where Augustine was a watchmaker and jeweller. Augustine and Elizabeth had one daughter Margaret Theresa born c. 1877/8 (In Bedminster, Somerset) At the time of the 1881 census Augustine's niece Winifred Trask, who was a year younger than Margaret, and his sister in law Hannah Eyres, were staying with them and they had one servant, Mary Agnes Shaw. By 1891 they too had moved to Bristol, and were living in 45 High Street, Bristol, where Augustine was listed as Restaurateur. They had two live in servants at that time. By the 1901 Census Augustine, Elizabeth and Margaret had moved to 39 Bridge Street, Bristol and Augustine was listed as Restaurant Proprietor, with Margaret shown as his assistant Ends. | [NITF] |
